September - #wemakeevents

#WeMakeEvents is an international movement to highlight that the live events sector urgently needs support from local governments to survive the Covid-19 crisis. Our focus is to get Government initiatives to help the industry back to work while providing support until it can fully return to work: RESTART LIVE.

We got behind our venues with donated lighting and labour to support the message.

August - Roadies Who Ride

Another little Covid project has been Roadies who ride.

We noticed a lot of our industry partners had really used this time to focus on health and a bit of a re set.
We along with other event partners created this group working along side Support act to give everyone a social outlet to make the most of this new found passion

Roadies Who Ride began when a bunch of crew members working in live entertainment got together to ride mountain bikes at Red Hill, VIC. When Covid19 hit, effectively taking the entire entertainment industry with it, Roadies Who Ride grew from a group of mountain biking friends into a community of bike enthusiasts and became an outlet for maintaining mental and physical health.

July - 3D printing for a cause

So for July we turned out 3D printer back on to make ear savers.
All money was donated to Support act !

“ With the latest changes in Melbourne our 3d Printers are now running 24/7 producing various items to help with the pandemic.

All profits outside of material costs will be donated to Support Act

May - Share The Food Project ( Charity )

With the events industry on the back burner for a while we were able to turn our attention to some local initiatives set up to help those less fortunate during the pandemic.

We joined the team over at the Share the Food Project to lend a hand and Vehicles to aid with their efforts.

We put the word out to all the great operators we work with and had a huge response from people wanting to get on board for such a great cause.

Thank you for everyone that answered the call.

To date, the Share the Food project has distributed around $500,000 worth of food and essential items. The project is a combination of individual contactless deliveries of food parcels to homes and emergency accommodation as well as supplying over 30 other local community organisations with food parcels and bulk goods to support shared client groups. Supplies include fresh fruit and vegetables, non-perishable food items, freshly prepared meals, toiletries, nappies, pet food and other essentials.

Gippsland Horse and Stock Safe - Bushfire Assistance

Another call to arms earlier in the year saw us head to Gippsland to help the GHSS Bushfire Assistance team.
With the devastation of the fires causing havoc across the area they jumped to action to start to get feed into effected areas where livestock were in desperate need.
With the calls coming in thick and fast their small set up needed to upscale quickly. We headed down with a van full of donated office equipment and linked them up with new Whiteboards, 2 way radios, fridge and printers to help them with the monumental task they were facing.

A little more about GHSS

“Who are we ?

We are a grassroots organization of local people helping local people. We are your neighbours, relatives, farmers, local business owners and friends giving our community a helping hand at times of need during bushfire emergencies.

We have a wide spread network throughout Gippsland from the mountains to the sea of local horse people, farmers, hay runners, truck owners and drivers and local business’s willing to donate their time, products and fodder to help out their community. We deliver our donations directly to the farm gates and into the hands of those who need it most.”
