OCTOBER 2016
Recently we were asked to put together a package for a new venue in Prahran. The owners already have a number of spaces around Melbourne, so they had an idea in mind of what they wanted to achieve with the Audio for this space.
Off the bat we were required to look into the noise restrictions on the property and engaged Dcap to draft a full report on the property. We also scoped what works were necessary to achieve the desired volume and full spectrum sound the owners were chasing.
Once sorted, our next call was to the team at National Audio to look at a D&B option. Budget was limited, so with their help we combined a D&B/DB tech solution. Using some of the venue's existing infrastructure including an in-house Ashley control system, we were able to hit all targets and assemble a stand out package for a venue of its size.
The PA covers two floors, with the ground floor delayed when the DJ position is priority. It is also designed steer away from weaknesses in the venue achieved by the NAS team working closely with the Dcap acousticians. All in all, it shows what you can do when you bring the right teams together..
Opening night saw a full house, and as per all of our projects, we provided an operator for the entirety of the event to ensure everything was glitch free (it also allows some final tweaks to the system when the space fills capacity).
This is an on going project for the owners' so drop back along the way to see it develop!
